“Negotiate your own writing goals and audience expectations regarding conventions of genre, medium, and rhetorical situation”

 

Before continuing with each assignment, we completed a genre analysis of the samples from previous students. This allowed us to interpret how the past students structured their papers, along with how they implemented each rhetorical situation. By analyzing each genre, we gained more of an understanding of the topic and use this to develop our own writing. Figure 1 demonstrates a part of the genre analysis that was conducted before writing my lab report.
